Sniper Kills Suicide Bomber At Maiduguri IDP Camp

Upon sighting the terrorist, a sniper on security duty shot and killed him, preventing the bomber from detonating his explosive vest.

A Nigerian troop attached to Operation LAFIYA DOLE killed a suicide bomber near the Bakassi Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Maiduguri on Sunday morning, according to a military press statement released to PR Nigeria.

The suicide bomber was spotted trying to enter the camp through the western flank. Upon sighting the terrorist, a sniper on security duty shot and killed him, preventing the bomber from detonating his explosive vest.

A team of explosive experts from the military and police were subsequently called to safely detonate the explosives.
