Like Goliath, once stood a giant:
Indefatigable; undefeated.
The body parts, like an army of termites,
United in a common front - unconditionally.
Against all odds, it defied failure.
The spirit to fly aloft was at its acme.
Putrefaction gave way.
Sadly, the body’s been infiltrated;
Poisoned to die slowly in excruciating pains.
Like an unseen decomposing victim of the hunter,
The parts fall off daily - to hungry molls, and bugs, and worms.
Some transparently masked antagonists
Are the cults of peace and violence.
Two apart - they preach love and hatred.
But the otherwise is conspicuous in their exhibition.
Of the old, divided we fall.
Nei - Today, we divide to stand.
Is the centre apart?
Or the parts are at the centre?
I’m digging for answers in the desert,
Susceptible to becoming a prey to a pride of bloodthirsty lions soon.
I’m thirsting to death unaided.
For the wells that once stood here are drained with time.
Those that severed the giant survive here.
They’re watching me keenly and gnashing their teeth.
They have files of life and death.
Questioning in their haven is tantamount to death.
