Frank Sinatra: Limericks

There once was a fellow named Frank
Who had plenty of cash in the bank
He was linked to the mob
Just like corn on the cob
And got naked with many a skank

Frank began singing songs as a child
On the street, when the weather was mild
And in bars down the road
From his humble abode
Where the locals got charmed and beguiled

Frank grew up as a handsome young dude
And a lot of young ladies he wooed
In the clubs and the bars
Or the back seats of cars
As Glenn Miller performed ‘In The Mood’

He hooked up with 'The Hoboken Four'
And he sang ‘til his tonsils were sore
Major Bowes saw their act
In a hall that was packed
With a crowd that was shouting for more

So the Major put Frank and the lads
Far away from their moms and their dads
Playing songs on the road
Where much talent they showed
And the groupies all ached for their ‘nads

Frank then started his big band career
After catching the eye and the ear
Of the great Harry James
And some other big names
On the course he was trying to steer

Tommy Dorsey then wined him and dined him
And then to a contract he signed him
But after two years
Frank was keen to shift gears
So he put all that lifestyle behind him

As a soloist Frank made it big
As millions of fans came to dig
Both his dashing good looks
And his musical hooks
When they saw him performing a gig

He consorted with bad guys a lot
In Las Vegas, where battles were fought
By gun toting thugs
Over hookers and drugs
Where a lot of poor buggers got shot

Fifteen years ago Frank passed away
But we still hear his voice to this day
He was bigger than life
He had many a wife
Like Hugh Hefner and Cassius Clay
