THE POETS

Their voices are louder -
Like a town crier,
Making us think wider,
And pushing us higher,

To change the unchangeable
And  overcome the insurmountable;
To keep standing tall
Even as we often fall.

Theirs is a ceaseless cry
For peace, and freedom;
The tears that defy
Any atom of chauvinism.

Where is our pride,
If this Pilar of wisdom eludes us;
And we can't abide
By the rules; and truss?

Wake up! It's your turn
To fly aloft like
A Haliaeetus albicilla (Erne),
And stop being a tyke.
